Spawn Point

The spawn point defines the starting position and orientation each time you enter the scene. V2.2 resolves the issue of spawn points being lost during project migration or collaboration — spawn point data is now stored bound to the LCC file and automatically travels with it throughout the entire workflow.

Viewing the Current Spawn Point

After entering Edit Mode, find the "Spawn Point" entry in the asset management panel, or click "Return to Spawn Point" in the global toolbar to jump back to the spawn point position.

Resetting the Spawn Point

Steps:

  1. In Edit Mode, navigate to the desired position and orientation
  2. Find the "Spawn Point" entry in the asset management panel
  3. Right-click → select "Set Spawn Point"
  4. The system sets the current camera position and orientation as the new spawn point
  5. The spawn point marker updates in the 3D viewport
  6. Changes take effect after saving the project

Note: If you close without saving, spawn point changes will be lost. If the spawn point is set outside the model, the system warns: "Spawn point may not be inside the model."

Spawn Point Data Persistence

Starting from V2.2, spawn point data is bound to the LCC file and follows its full lifecycle:

OperationBehavior
SaveSpawn point data is written to the info directory alongside the corresponding LCC2 asset
Import LCCAutomatically reads the spawn point data from the LCC directory and applies it to the current spawn point
Export ProjectSpawn point data files are packaged together with the LCC
PublishSpawn point data is synced; Web Viewer uses it as the initial viewpoint

Note: If spawn point data is corrupted or has an invalid format, the message "Spawn point data failed to load; current configuration retained" appears. This does not affect normal project loading.
